IAMGOLD is a leading, mid-tier gold mining
company, producing approximately one million
ounces of gold annually from eight mines in
West Africa, South America and Canada. The
Company's niobium mine in Canada produces
4.4 million kilograms of
niobium annually.
The Company is focused on expanding the
production potential of its core portfolio of
world-class, long-life, low-cost assets –
Rosebel, Essakane, Westwood and Niobec –
and advancing a number of attractive
exploration and development projects.
In 2011, IAMGOLD is targeting a 14% to 24%
increase in attributable gold production to
1.1 million to 1.2 million ounces at an average
cash cost of between $565 and $595 per
ounce. In 2011, the Niobec mine in the
province of Quebec is expected to produce
between 4.5 million and 5.0 million kilograms
of niobium, with an operating margin of
between $15 and $17 per kilogram. |
